That AQA anothology is awful. The only thing worse is going though it with my sex obessed english teacher. Apparently Heany has a "potato fetish"


lol ur teachers a bit of a .... dont think ill mention it though :wink: he aint got a potato fetish... its the main part of a stable irish diet especially when Heaney lived on a farm (arable farming) and both his father and grandfather were both farmers :smile: Heaney is orginally from Bellaghy in Co. Derry in Northern Ireland also he married author Polly Devlin's sister :biggrin: (just a bit of useless information :wink:) xoxo

I don't know really, what is an anthology? I have to know 2 books (Of Mice and Men and A View From the Bridge) and you have to analyse a unseen poem in the Literature paper.
Since you follow that exam board, I don't think there is an anthology then. If you want to know what it is, it's a book full of poems.

A View From the Bridge is rather weird, but quite a good read. I quite enjoy Of Mice and Men though :smile:

i think i had a nervous breakdown towards the end...when i was doing my GCSE's...so i didn't do as well as i could have...but consequently i was not stressed when i did them...spent lot of time doing extra curricular activities and stuff, cos i got fed up with studying! you lot whom are going to sti GCSE's this year whould try it...its much more fun dossing than it is studying...sorry for stating the obvious!
