Preston Nightlife

Ive heard mixed reviews about it. I was just wondering what peoples thoughts on it were. Ive been told that its good but there isn't many places to go. Any truth in that?
Thanks

My girlfriends sister loves the Preston nightlife. Plus with a bar and a club on campus there is at least somewhere to go and drink. And on my tour they said the ship was a good place to go to.
And in my trips to Preston i have seen loads of pubs and clubs and restaraunts and stuff so surely there are places to go!

There's loads to do, I really enjoy the night life. There's something for everyone's tastes. There's somewhere to go pretty much every night of the week. What sort of thing do you like?

There is plenty to do, and like mentioned theres something for pretty much every night of the week and plenty of variation when it comes to places to go.
there is always somewhere to go, aslong as you make connections in the first few weeks, there is always a choice of places to go with diffrent groups of people, and if all else fails, there are flat or house parties.
Ive never thought my options were limited, infact there may be too much to do which distracts alot from their studies, lol.

thanks guys, its pleasing to here some good reviews about the nightlife!
It's decent, but it can get very repetitive and boring as there's only about 5 decent places to go.

How about going to Manchester for a night? Is it too far away and is it possible to get back to Preston later at night on in the early morning? Stupid idea, I guess... yeah?

Manchester only about 4o/50 minutes away. Its easier enough to get to, and easy enough to get back from. There's a train around 4ish.

I'm sorry, but what does 4ish mean?

And also, when does Young Person's Railcard (or smth like that) work? I mean, will it give a discount for a train if I would like to go to Manchester in the evening and go back in the morning.

Sorry, it means around 4 o'clock.
The railcard works anytime. As long as you buy your tickets in advance or at the station before you travel. If you buy on the train they won't accept it.

Manchester has the best nightlife around, completely worth the travel. Hundreds of clubs. I personally will making many trips to Manchester for nights out, luckily my family will live here so I can kip over night.

Hey Preston is pretty good. There's something to do most nights, loadsa pubs and clubs. I go there now and I'm not even at uni there yet!
You can only use your railcard after 9.30 in the morning btw. :frown: bad times.
Easy links to Manchester or Liverpool though so if u want a massive night out u can

Sorry to drag up an old thread.

Are people in general up for going to Manchester sometimes for a night out? Just that I think Manchester, well, I love manchester, and I love the music scene. It's just that generally in my groups of friends i'm the one who gets up and does stuff, wheras some people are a bit less adventurous. Thoughts?
