Mmm, i think so. I think cough mixture just has a weak dose of paracetamol in it and some other things. Although it doesn't really affect me as i'm alergic to the stuff! So when i have a cough or a sore throat i just have to suffer!

uuhh...not really.

u should never mix the 2, or so i was told by the doctor :frown:

if anything, it will make u get drunk quicker

Does the mixture say anything about drowsines?

EDIT: Do you know the generic name of the active drug?

I have a bit of a cough at the moment, so I bought some cough mixture this morning. I'm going out drinking later though, and my mum thinks I shouldn't mix the two. It doesn't say anything on the box though. It should be fine, right?

If it doesn't say anything on the box/bottle it should be fine - what is it you were taking?

Is it diphenhydramine? The risks associated with alcohol and this are: Drowsiness, dizziness; increased risk for overdose. Basically, you will get pissed quite quickly:p: =>cheap night out

I've no idea. The box is useless, it just keeps going on about not taking it if you're diabetic! Meh, as long as the only effect it has is making me drunk quicker, I can live with that! :p:

This reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where they mixed cough syrup and alcohol to make a flaming homer. There were no adverse effects there but then again it was a cartoon. So yeah.

Lol! Damn, and there was me thinking The Simpsons was educational. :frown:
Which benylin is it?

No, can't say it did. It actually had the opposite effect - I think I got drunk more slowly!
