I never knew that!! Also they filmed a TV series called A Very Peculiar Practice there (about a GP surgery at a Uni).
Yeah, here's the link to the screenings  http://brunelstudents.com/cultfilm/news/index.php?page=article&news_id=86635

I want the fleece, you know I didn't know Brunel University had crest, but it would be lame if it had the "Brunel: west london" blue-white logo on it.

I've only seen what the crest looks like from those pictures on the Brunel Clothing site.

iced_dragon_agility
yeah, just online, then yoy collect them from the student union.

I don't have the crest on mine, but the american style lettering, it's coool

First of where is the student union? Is it in the Hamilton Centre?
I want the American style lettering too! Do lots of people where them around uni? Or is it more of a lounging about at home hoody?

Heyyyy
lol @ Eli2ab3th! im looking forward 2 meeting every1 on the course, n i think that part of it will be excellent. I'm just not sure if Multimedia is what I want to do...?

The Assignments seem boring and long (i did do real well *Thank God* is my A Levels, so i'm not alien 2 assignments n coursework, its jus i dnt want it to be all about technology- was kind of interested in the design aspect of it all.

Web Design is what i would be interested in...
Any one know how difficult Software Engineering in Brunel is? and how much Maths it involves?

To the people who have done Multimedia Tech and Design - was the course full during ur time of studying?? I could only find like 4 ppl doing it LOL! And even if it does have assignments-is its an exciting course??

Thanks a bunch

I have had the same doubts as you because I am also more into the design aspect of the course. But I also want to learn about all the technology bits and pieces too.. I am sure they won't chuck us in at the deep end. I'm not sure about the maths bit (Hoping there won't be much, I am really bad at maths lol :o: )

the students union is in the hamilton building, under the stairs. once you've got your id, you can pick it up. The hoodies are very popular; the crest is more popular with those who study sports. People wear them around uni everyday: the sight is popular along with wearing flipflops :p:

As for the course, there is no maths ! Else I wouldn't be here haha. It's very much more a design course than technology, and the technology you learn will have a lot of design in the process. It's not a 'computing' course. There is boring theory in the first year but it gets better. it's best to spend your own time getting used to the adobe softwares as much as.

It is quite a full course; there are 70 people in my year, and you share modules with broadcast media in 1st year too. most of the assignments are design, and you'll learn a lot of web design in first year (my one true love!!) which you'll improve in 2nd year.

Anyone going to be joining 'Cult Film' Soc? I can't wait to see A Clockwork Orange in the building in which it was filmed.

I'm joining, but I want to read the book first, then watch the film.

Oooh, I'm in the same situation too. I've checked on my Student Finance page, and it still stays the require evidence form my parents to assess the home income thing, which was posted off a month ago! :frown:

Yeah, I heard 6 weeks too, and uni starts in 3 weeks time... I think we do pay a partial ammount of the fee. But I thought Tutuition fees are only paid when we start working?

I'm only paying for tutuition, and applying for maintenance grant, but not taking out maintenance loan, but I think you do pay 1/6 of the cost of Accomodation (your applying for accomodation, right? As I'm living at home for 1st year) on the day of registration day.

I hope for find this a bit useful. I'm confused about paying tutuiton loan, and I'm still waiting for the SLC to give me my grant money!
Freshers: You don't ever see your tuition loan except on a bit of paper. It goes straight from the SLC to the uni.

Good thing is they have received my parents income stuff... but they 1) think i havnt applied for a loan.. so had to resend the forms and 2) not updated that ill be going to brunel

Yeah tuition fees are not paid until we earn over 15K and then its 9% i guess... but doesnt student finanace pay money directly to the uni at the start of the term? thats what ive been told

Yeh, I applied through Clearing. I haven't received anything from Brunel university through post, but I will contact them on Monday if I don't receive anything (we should do, though). I've only received confirmation from UCAS too, and signing up on eVision through Brunel by email.

Early perhaps, but its 2-3 weeks now, and still nothing through post which suprises me.

i haven't received anything either, apart from the emails :s oh well
I also applied via clearing - I have recieved quite alot of info through e-mail but again nothing through the post - I'm thinking it's quite normal though, so long as we get the essentials through e-mail.
