haha, well! The film society used to be the only one which existed (my best friend is one of the presidents) but last september a few fresher's joined who used to get annoyed with the film choices and wanted to lead, so they decided to make their own film society lol! There isn't much of a difference, just that they're on different days of the week.

Oooh, a rebellion, lol! Guest I'll join both.

Do you reckon the SW course students and the 3 year students are in the same classes for the first couple of years? Cos i guess the course is exactly the same until the third..

yeah they are, the only difference is that after your second year the 4 years students will go off and get a job for a year where as the 3 year students will do their 3rd year. of course if the university doesn't find you a placement then a 4 year student will become a year student.
I'm on placement atm, and it works exactly as El Torres says.

Im doing a placement in my 3rd year. Does Brunel help you find a placement suited to your course?

They'll list companies' vacancies, plus will help you with your CV and interview technique, else you're pretty much on your own in actively acquiring placement. You have to apply/send off CVs or emails, and attend the interviews etc. I found my placement through a recruiting website as it wasn't listed with the uni. more luck that way.

Is anyone else not looking forward to Freshers Week? I'm not concerned about not making friends or anything, since I've never had a problem with that. I'm not looking forward to all these club nights though. I don't like clubs, I don't like drinking and I don't like parties, so I'm just concerned that I'll get excluded a bit for that.

Yeah I don't like drinking, parties or clubs either. I actually haven't seen a single thing on Fresher's week I want to go to. You should come over with me and my best friend; play scrabble, drink pots of tea and watch films. :yep:
