Aww thank you .. I have heard such great things about the course.. just want to get started now .. but I am sure once I start I will be counting down the days till the xmas hols lol
By any chance does anyone know out there if it costs to park at any of the student accomodations? Your knowledge would be immensely appreciated.
I went to an open day/interview earlier this year. According to the person who took us on a tour, If you want to park on campus you need a permit, but if you live on campus they won't give you one. Can't remember how much they said it was for a permit though.

heys to all freshers! I've just finished my 2nd year in Multimedia Technology and Design, and am on my placement year now!
Any questions, feel free to ask
Guys, what kind of assignments and stuff do you normally do? That word sounds kind of essay-ish...
Yeah, course is great, just starts out a bit slow with theory, but second year is more mixed, though harder with deadlines all overlapping and longer projects XD worth it for the end though.
Assignments in first year will be odd theory stuff, 1-2 website design assignments, some flash, and assignments where you're free to create whatever you want (be it video, animation etc.)
2nd year assignments are more focused, with assignments in scriptwriting, creating and editing a film from scratch, 3D modelling, game creation, more web design, sound engineering and some odd coding (php/mysql/xml) work. It's varied and more fun, just a looooong year. Glad I'm on my year break now

If you live on campus or within 2 miles of the uni, you will not get a permit. A permit for the academic year is £93 and this means you can park in the Student Bays of which there are never enough during term time. There is also Pay and Display which is 50p per hour and anyone can park there car on campus between 1630 and 0800 and all weekend for no charge. (You need to register your car with the uni though).
Public transport is plentiful and Uxbridge town centre is only about 15 min walk. (More buses and Met/Piccadilly line)
Ok guys so i have an unconditional offer for Brunel starting september 09.. Has anyone recieved a pack of information etc or sorted or been asked about their accomodation yet?
Whats the nightlife life like on campus/in Uxbridge? Any good?
There's two bars on campus that are always packed, lots of drink deals and themed nights, they also show sport matches there. Plus there's the onsite club which has somethign on every night of all types of music and theme nights.
Uxbridge doesn't really have any bars, though has lots of different pubs where different societies organise crawls through. There's also a Liquid in town which has a brill student night on Wednesday and an different night on Thursday.
Otherwise, you've got central London clubs wihin easy reach. There are reps around uni that organise nights out to different London clubs, they even organise coaches there and back ti campus so you don't have to get the train. They go to all the student nights around London.
Plus, 20 mins walk away from campus is West Drayton station which for like £7 return you can go to Reading, which has looooads of bars and student deals (2 unis there) and the last train back is like at 2.30am so it's convenient.
why on earth have brunel increased the requirement for business and management from 280 to 300 points. I mean im well pissed off that I have to try and get 300 when before it was 280. Plus this year the competition is going to be high because more people have applied than ever before to go Uni.
They trying to raise the standard of the students that come here = Brunel does better = better students = better league tables.
