I notice that someone is registering under a billion and one names and posting silly threads. Obviously the 'get rid of unregistered' plan cocked up

when there are mods it runs well. It doesn't matter if they're registered or not, they can post whatever they like when the mods aren't around. But when the mods come back they just ban the whole user account.

email verification would mean that there would at least be someone to report them to. With AOL for instance the ISP addresses can come from all over the place so they are virtually untraceable back to the member.
Its far easier to pin someone down with an email address and if it means we dont get people like that idiot who was posting porn on here last night then I think it would be worth it.
I guess the mods know best though...

Out of curiosity, does it take up a lot more 'space' (banwidth/memory? (not sure of the correct term in this case)) on the server having more members? I don't mean their posting just having their details and ID etc kept?

Probably, but not by a drastic amount.
