best UK med schools for electives??

Hello all,

I am an IMG, and I am planning to apply to some UK medical schools for perhaps one or two electives..

As far as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong, I should start sending my application approx. 12 months prior to the time I am expecting to commence my elective..

Anyhow, when I was trying to decide on which universities I should be applying to, I was puzzled because I didin't know which university is better than another..

I am so not sure yet, but I think I will be applying to the following unis:

- Newcastle
- Leicester
- St. George's
- Aberdeen (I think it's in Scotland, but that's fine)
- Liverpool

Could anyone please help me and give me any advice on the topic..?
Are there any students from these universities in this forum?

Thanks in advance for whoever is willing to take the time & help..

Hi,
I'm a Newcastle medic, and I would definitely recommended it! It's one of the best schools in the coutrry, it has brilliant teaching and is a great city- it's not all that expensive to live in.
