I'm going to QMUL this September, and I come from waaay up north of Scotland, so I pretty much have priority when it comes to accommodation choices.

On the open day I attended I looked in some of the rooms but I'm not sure which block it was.. opposite a café I think? Anyways, what is considered the "best" accomm in terms of size/amenities, etc? I was thinking on Pooley house, but I'm not sure.

If anyone has pics that would be great!
Whats the difference between all the newly built accomm.?

Sooo many choices!

I think that was probably Varey House, which was opposite the Curve.

Here's the QMUL wiki on accommodation:

I'm not a fan of Pooley personally. Yes, it's new, but there's several hundred people in one building, leads to lots of noise and fire alarms. I'd far rather be somewhere smaller like France House or Fielden.

There isn't much of a difference between the new accommodations really, they're all new and shiny and en suite. France House is meant to be the best as it has canal views, and there's only 4 people to a flat.

Agreed. France house has 5 to a flat still a good number, dominated by law students at least when I lived there.

France house have the biggest rooms and an en suite with a bath. Feilden the rooms are alot smaller but you save money on the rent.

I think creed court has pretty decent size rooms and the ground floor flats have an up stairs and down stairs areas so can feel a bit more like a house.

Does France House have such a large dining/living area as there are less people, or not? And what difference does so little people sharing a flat have? How many flats are there on each floor?

France House sounds nice! Are there any pictures online I can look at?

Well, if there are less people in a flat that means there are less people using the kitchen. In some flats there might be 10 people sharing a kitchen, so you have to share the microwave, fridge, etc with more people, but if there's only 3 other people it just makes life easier.
Pooley for the drugs. :ninja:

Sweet! Is it quieter, and does smaller flats make it more isolated from the other halls? Or do people mingle lots? I want to make as many friends as possible as I'll be far from home! But I don't want to be crowded :woo:

So I hear. Pooley is apparently the party, druggy flats (I don't live in halls though..).
Depends what you like, tbh I'd love that.

No, people from lots of different halls mix together, most of my friends aren't in my halls at all, in fact many of my good friends travel from home. Anyway, you'll be fine

so how many people if Fielden? I'd like a flat with around 6/7 people, medium sized!

I was pretty certain that you couldn't (except by being clever i.e. "I need a bath" means you get France House) but maybe this has been introduced with the new computer system.
