A Couple of Questions Regarding Warwick Nightlife/Social bla bla

As well as all the clubbing, what are the other social things like? What are the societies like? They say there are hundreds of them, but are they actually that interesting? What about the other things like the cafes, the Student Union in general? Do they have an impact on uni life, or are they just in the background and the discos and nightlife are the most important?

Most societies and sports teams are very active, especially the really big ones. There is always something going on in terms of student activity (whether that be guest speakers, plays, protests, tours, pub crawls, concerts) The student cinema runs almost every night and most societies do something at least once a week, for many its more frequently! I only know of a handful of people who are not involved in any societies or clubs. If you throw yourself into societies that interest you then you can make excellent friendship groups and do all sorts of amazing things. The best thing is that there seems to something to interest almost everyone.

During the day, especially at lunchtime you will find every cafe/food outlet on campus is packed with people having lunch, meeting up to work there, catching up over coffee. The arts centre is a really popular meeting place as it has wi-fi and loads of sofas etc. Before they closed the union building that was always fairly busy during the day with people just hanging out, having a drink, playing pool etc.

Its definately not all about the nightlife...the nightlife plays a part in the rest of it but often its the societies/sports clubs that just increase how much going out at night you do.
