Hey guys

Me and a couple of the lads where looking for a good old clubbing holiday :yep:

any one been to both and could give us their opinions on which place is the best ? :cool:

NOT ZANTE, everyone who's been there that I know has said its a craphole. My boyfriend's best friend also got murdered when they were on holiday there a few years back.

Around about the same, my boyfriend said they hated it in zante the first day they got there, there were plenty of clubs, but the real crappy sort you get here you know. Ive been to Malia and they have a nice mix, it doesnt feel too British, still feels like a holiday if you get me! Theyre both popular resorts so have loads of clubs because their sole aim is to attract young clubbers, but Malia's definately seen as slightly safer than zante/magaluf x

I've only been to Ayia Napa so far, going to Magaluf this summer. Heard Malia's a lot better than Zante though.

went to Zante June/July and had the best time of my life never once felt unsafe (Even lost my friends a few times) Everyone is lovely there pointing u in the right direction!

Heard about the rape alley a few days before we went and rang up the rep who then rang around in zante to confrom this is NOT true, just an old rumour going round!..Yeah u can get a few pervy ppl but were dont u get that!?

Deff going back next year, but would love to try somewere else aswell?

Weres everyone off too 2010 summer? :smile:

I went to Malia in June/July and loved it, there is plenty of bars, places to eat and its so cheap! You do get hassled a lot by prs at night when your on the strip which does get annoying but im presuming all club 18-30 places are like that. During the day it seems a bit dead, probably as we didn't do the club 18-30 excursions- imo its a rip off as you could go to most of the same places for free, but at night it starts to get busy at around 11pm. There is also good watersports which were fairly cheap.

This year we've been thinking about going to Zante but we are on the same boat as you, can't decide if Zante will be better than Malia!

im planning on going there this year and iv been before but on a family holiday lol.
I see some people are saying about places being unsafe ect but you get pick pockets/pervs everywhere =|
I think some of it is wether you have street sense or not, if ye get me? lol

I went to Zante in July - August this year and despite reading several reviews on the 'safeness' of the resort I found it to be welcoming and full of happy people who just wanted to have fun. I think I only ever came across one instance of violence in the week I spent there, I've seen much worse on a Friday night in certain corners of London.

I've never been to Malia myself but I went with 2 friends who went to Malia in 08' and said that Zante basically blew Malia out of the water. I think most of the partying destinations are pretty similar in terms of clubs and pubs. - Whatever you decide, have fun and look after yourself :smile:

I've been to both and have to disagree with everyone here, Zante had a much safer atmosphere because u do get families and karaoke bars etc unlike malia!! Malia was extremely rough and i remember seein numerous fights and a trail of blood up the strip after a stabbing. On the clubbing front tho i'd say both were pretty equal.

BARTER ALL THE WAY!!!-lots of fine print too + water down drinks!
Closer you get to the ocean on the main strip the more water you get in your drinks.
Bar called the local does 10euro all u can drink best deal by far
exerywhere else is 2 cocktails for 5euro plus 2 shots-Sounds good but mostly its just water! what you drink there is nothing compared to what u get here!

Meal times starter & mains around 14euro with 2 drinks its good food usually breakfast are around 5euro!
Went to one bar off the main strip breakfast was 3.50 euro drinks where 3euro each!!!!
Always a catch!!!!!!!
Laughing gas stuff over there is expensive legal high last around 30 seconds good to try but waste of money.
beach chairs 2.50 each all day
quad & bikes is 24 euro for 24 hours(must have driving licence/uk full)
the tour around the island is nice was about 16 euro
junk food aka kfc mds around 7 euro

if you wanna go cost me around £300 per person to go and then spending money i took £450 came back with not much at all and i staid in/early night (6 days in total only boat trip for day activity travel)
if i went again a good £600 shold do it (exchange rate was £1 to 1.08euro)

people are really nice though

Also, any tips on where you'd recommend as the best places to go?

Alright pal, just got back from zante. it was ****ing amazing! Alot of bars offer a free bar for 5-10 euros, usually 2 hours, afterall you want to hit the main clubs about 2/3am :smile:

Try Indie bar around 1ish, then head to rescue/zeros/cherry bay, which all close at 6am or 8am in some places :smile:

get some great deals at smaller bars on the way down that will get you pissed. Go to premier bar and ask for a 'braveheart'. Pint of 14 spirits. top notch :smile:

I went to malia last year and had the best week of my life. But if you do go there and decide to go on the quads for a night, just be careful where you end up. I ended up in a dark row of houses someone and had some big dog chasing us literally thought that was it. Funniest memories I think I have are there though, booked for Zante this year so hopefully it's just as good if not better. Went to magaluff in 2013 and that was good to. Heard about some 'rape alley' there aswell but never actually seen it when I got there. Always hear stuff but until you've been and done it yourself you never really no☺️
