Is that the really long, narrow, dark one which goes past Castle and stinks of 'wee-wee'?

That is a vennel, indeed. However, I was referring to the coffeeshop called Vennels which serves lovely chocolate cake...

Mmmmmmm Vennel's. And at night it's a nice wine bar!

I think you mean Windy Gap.........*shudders*

I like Windy Gap in the day. Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole at night.

Windy Gap??

You Bailey people with your Bailey places  - where's cobra and all the Hill-dwellers so we can discuss Aidan's Hill, Mary's Field, Collingwood Steps, Trev's Path, and Potters Bank?

We got taken up it on the way back to Hatfield after the night out on the open 2days!

I think they might mean moatside lane (next to the shakespeare), and windy gap as we know it isn't actually windy gap. What we refer to as windy gap (the path along by the river from prebends bridge to framwellgate bridge) is actually called "broken walls walk" or something like that (check it up on the maps). Windy gap is the small alley next to the law library which leads down to that path.

Random i know, but what the hell.

Ah, that wasn't Windy Gap. That was Rapists' Alley. And it was all stupid Nick's fault. I apologise profusely...

That's a very tactful description of Nick, but that was indeed him. I might have gone for manic instead of excitable, but hey...

I'm very honoured! I hope you only have good recollections - my roommates and I were using up my bottle of rum that night, so I was slightly tipsy  What subject you doing, btw? You weren't in my group, were you?

Nope, I don't think so....Economics. The girl showing us round was 'Ash'. You have dark hair though right? (I bloody hope so now that I have said that!)

Yeah, I do. You have a good memory, I can't remember things from 2 days ago, let alone 2 months.

Ash is lovely and Scottish.
Ash was great - she took us to the economics building in little Elvet (I think?!) for our morning talk when it was actually in a 'science site lecture theatre. Hence we walked into everybody else sat there listening; they of course looked over at us *shudders*

Ash did help me get a lasagne though at formal once i told her i didnt like Salmon! Why Salmon?! It's been at every formal of one description/type or another i have been to!

Now that we've got the windy gap, moatside lane confusion sorted out.... I always used Windy Gap to get to North Road as it was very pretty and very quick!

Also, Windy Gap goes between the Music School and Palace Green Library(which is not specifically law, it's also local history, music and random politics books and UN documents!)

Salmon for formals, well its that or chicken i'm afraid!

Ash is ace, we had such fun scraping together politics tutorial presentations this year:smile:

There has been pork a few times. And turkey at Christmas! the veggie option's never thrilling either - those vegetable bakes, with potatoes AND chickpeas... :puke:
