I think you can have it done by lazer. Dont know how i know that? Hm.
anyway, ifs safe to say its not safe doing it urself.

Personally the sound of a lazer conjures an image of a light sabre cutting through but im sure its much nicer, try googling?

I've emailed this private hospital about it, they say for one that sticks out it's better to get it sort of 'scraped off' - and even then it might grow back. Sucks!

i always wondered what would happen if u cut it with scissors.

Go to your gp, they may remove it for you. I've had 3 suspicious moles removed from my back by the gp after a mole check.

don't. I think that there's some kind of a risk of melanoma if you try and do this.

Hi, I'm thinking of having a protruding mole removed from my face before I start uni. Has anyone had or is having one removed?? I'm scared!

i had one removed off of my head (just under the hairline). they scraped just the top off i think and it was really quick but theres no scar or anything. however its under my hair so you pobably wouldnt be able to see it anyway

I need to go for a check up on my moles. There's one on my arm that looks a bit suspicious...

Anyone suggested a shovel and poison gas yet...?

Actually, I had an itchy one which I scratched until it fell off. Now there's just a pale lump.

Are moles really that dangerous?? Cos I have loads, well a few that stick out, two of them are on my neck and the other two are on my spine. I might have to get them checked out!

Well, they occur as a result of damage due to exposure to the sun, and so in some cases can become cancerous. The main things to look out for are if they start bleeding or itching, if they change shape or have raggedy edges.

Cutting them out with scissors is NOT recommended, for starters it will hurt like f***, bleed loads and probably scar much more than if you get it done properly. I don't know about what Jacob says about it making them turn cancerous - if you have a surface benign neoplasm that hasn't invaded and cut too deep you could potentially damage the basement membrane which would leave it open to invasion from any remaining cancerous cells. In reality though, I don't know how likely this is to happen, if at all. DIY surgery is NOT a good idea!

I had one that went manky removed from my neck (on the collar line) by cryotherapy. They use liquid Nitrogen to freeze it off. It swells up for about a week... weeps a bit and then evenually, falls off  Quite painless. On your face however... a minor surgical procedure would be more suitable as I'm sure you don't want a huge boil on your face for 2 weeks!

Depends - if it's in danger of becoming cancerous the NHS will do it, or if it's really that horrible it's making your life hell. If it's purely cosmetic though, some dermatologists won't.

i had one removed off my leg and i was pooing myself before hand but it was fine... i didn't feel a thing. there is a bit of a scar there now though so not sure how it'd be on your face

i wouldnt worry about it, i think its a really simple procedure. it might hurt a bit, but i doubt it will be that painful. i want to get a mole on my chest taken of, because it looks manky, and i always get sunburnt around that area.
