Changing my fee status to home student

Well, its been a month since i requested a change to my status from overseas to home student for fee purposes.

I have been calling them up to remind them, but a final decision still has not been reached yet.

i wanna apply for the tuition fee and stuff asap, so what more should i do .?

Thank you

I'm trying to change my fee status to home status too, I've sent them an email but they havent answered yet. Should I call them? have you heard from them??
my friend had the same problem, however, they told her she couldnt change- the fee you pay when you first enrol, is the fee you will have to pay every year after that.

So unfortunately if your already there you can't change your status. But if your starting in Sept '09 (or whenever, basically if you haven't started) they usually give you some fee info papers; SOAS one wasn't very informative though and it didn't say what my status was but QMUL told me my status, the fees, how to pay and how to appeal, etc; and you can contact them before uni starts and if you provide evidence of you being Home Student they should change it

I have been warned that it does take a while though so your best to do it as soon as you can

Question : does anyone know who to contact about your fee status? I sort of forgot

Um, sorry for bumping an old thread, but can you tell me more about how you changed your fee status? Had you been living in the UK for up to 3 years without having spent any of that time at school? I mean how does your status suddenly change in the space between applying for university and starting... which is 12 months?

I'm very curious...

Thats not the only condition, you need to be living here 3 years prior to starting at uni AND be eligible for public funds (i.e the UK govt subsidy) .. so residential permit, etc.

For me personally, I'd had the Limited Leave to Remain in the UK for 4 years and 9 months in Sept '08 (which was when I was originally going to go to SOAS) but they said I was an International Student. In Dec '08 I got my Indefinite Leave to Remain visa and so when I started in Sept '09 I was considered a Home Student.

This isn't usually an issue if you are British / EU passport holder. I think I emailed Paul Sharp asking him about my fee status and he emailed me back a Questionnaire, I filled it in, submitted photocopies of my visa and than he confirmed that I was a home student (after about 8 long months!).

Hope that helps

Edit: I took a gap year and deferred my entry so that I didn't have to pay International Fees and I wasn't in school during this time
