A story about two essays

The plagiarism issue is, as River said, the bigger issue here. Forget the marks, if a lecturer cannot spot the exact same argument with the same quotes or cases to back up said argument, in a pile of essays, then integrity goes out the window. If the general student body got word of this, I'd be surprised if a couple weren't bold enough to try and get away with re-wording another essay in the hope of getting through the net.

I'm surprised he didn't notice the same name on top, twice.

Did one get deducted marks for being late?

This is so awesome. xD Would listen again. Not noticing the same essay is one thing if maybe he was marking a very large stack of papers but for the grade difference to be as massive as that is just shocking. :p: But also, don't they have some sort of system of recording marks so surely he would've noticed that one person has two copies of the same essay...

Neither was late.
Goes to show that each essay is totally down to the markers own psychological niche.

What do you expect taking a mickey mouse subject like Law!
Oh by the way, what happened with this? Did the guy get the higher mark, or what happens in that situation? (not that it should arise, hehe)

Its a formative - think he would get an average. I know when I got my summative back it was an average of the two examiners...
Any updates on this? I want to know if any heads are rolling.

He's not doing much about it at the moment - we have uberexam week coming up, but he will be getting all over that **** asap. Indeed we are considering writing a book about the life of a law student at Hurham University and ripping the gizzards in that. :yep:

Oh what do I care, I like the made-up-word-ness in general in this message.
