it's hardly easy to compare colleges. Each person's experience is different and the users of this forum are hardly in a position to point to those aspects which people who go to the same college have in comparison to the same from another college.

Corpus will push you much, much harder. Sidney have a stronger emphasis (amongst the students) on participation in extra-curricular stuff. We have very good law results, but you shouldn't really choose a college on the basis of their academic results as supervisors come from different colleges. Lots of Sidney lawyers join the official drinking societies and socialise together, not least because of our very own Law Library, which is excellent.

Comparing Sidney with Corpus - Corpus is older, slightly closer to Sidgwick but further from Sainsbury's, and is a bit smaller. Sidney has nicer grounds (i.e. stunning gardens).

I've tried to be objective but I am at Sidney and admit to having some issues with the meanness of some of the Corpus tutors. Balance is needed!

Not related to law, but hey...Sidney Sussex does sound like a lovely college, and from what I saw a pretty one too  - I nearly applied there but changed my mind at the last second so I hope I've made the right choice. I don't have any experience of the different colleges though, so if I were you I'd look at what Ticki has said in the post above.

Well I nearly applied to Pembroke! Seriously, most colleges are more alike than not. Selwyn, Sidney, Newnham, Emma, Clare, Pembroke, Tit Hall and Corpus are ridiculously similar, for instance. I'm sure others could be added to the list too!

The Sainsbury's College should win this debate by default.

I was SERIOUSLY going to apply to Corpus before I chose Trinity. It seemed really nice and pretty

I start to think that Pembroke is a bit blend. Should have applied to Trinity or something.

Iv got an offer for SPS at corpus, I did consider applying for law at cam, and I'd have stuck with my choice of collage for that one. Corpus is so so pretty and all the people I met there seemed great, so yeah- I guess... GO CORPUS?

one of the big dons from freshfields (big law graduate thingy from what i've heard) used to go to sidney.

Reply 17

hmph... Bill Oddie used to go to Pembroke! Match that!

Corpus was lovely and my first choice... why would anyone concider anywhere else first (except the emma sudents as that was the only real contender).

Go to Corpus!

It is a beauty! Although i do hear of some major and possibly disturbing renovation work to be undertaken in the coming few years.
