Why not fly from Manchester so you can get the train from Preston to Manchester Airport (services on this route run through the night), or have you already booked your flight?

Good idea, however I think they've booked the flights, and there's a rather large mark up on flights from Manchester

Yeah, I have already booked the flights. Thanks for the tips guys.

So the only option is to stay at Liverpool's Airport throughout the night, yeah? Damn... I have already booked that night in hotel for 40 pounds, and I doubt they will return me the money. Argh...

They might Powka - or you might want to consider a taxi to Liverpol airport- but thats gonna be around £40 anyway.

OK guys, I just got back from Open Day at UCLan. And it wouldn't be so much fun if it wasn't for your help, so thank you A LOT! OK, to sum up...

I have landed in Liverpool Airport, took 86A bus to City Center as you told me to. Also, the bus driver was very nice and gave me a shout when we stopped near the Lime Street. Followed the signs to Lime Street Station as you told me to, found it and got a ticket to Preston for 10.00 pounds, which leaves station at 55 or 57 or every last hour (that helped too). Well, in Preston it was very easy - first of all checked the Fishergate mall instead of going straight to Uni or Hotel. It's cool, because we don't have such nice shops here in Lithuania. Then asked a guy for a way to UCLan, because I knew my hotel should be somewhere very close to campus. Btw, people's accent in Liverpool and Preston is very hard to understand... So, found my way to Legacy's Preston International Hotel on Marsh Lane, very close to campus. That's was the end of the journey.

The second journey, which was less fun, was going back to Lithuania. Since you've told me (and that was true) there are no buses going at night in Liverpool, I took a train from Preston to Liverpool on 17:15 on Sunday (my flight was scheduled on 06:00am Monday). Found a bus station there and took an Airlink 500 bus to Liverpool's John Lenon Airport. I've spent like 9 hours in the Airport waiting for my flight and finally got back to Lithuania, of what I'm not very excited about.

So... I really REALLY liked Preston! I now miss it a lot. People are very nice and helpfull. I've stayed there for 4 days and found a lot of great places to go to. I walked my legs off to those docklands, and a huge MORRISONS mall, of which I got so excited that bought a lot of food. Didn't manage to find Tesco or Asda anywhere near Preston. And UCLAN... gosh, I don't even know what to say... I just what to speed up the time and get there as soon as possible! UCLan is awesome! Preston is awesome! I am so glad I have chosed this uni!

C'ya in September everyone!
Hello mate.

I live right oposite Liverpool Airport and will be going to UCLAN as well.

To get to preston from the airport the quickest, easiest and cheapest option is to get the 80A bus from the airport to Liverpool South Parkway Interchange. From there you will need to buy a train ticket to Preston.

The bus fare costs £1.60 and train fair, if it is a single costs £11.00 or so. If you want a return it is £14.00 something.

I am right by the airport so if you ever need any help just give us a buzz, and I will no doubt see you at Uni in September.

Glad you enjoyed yourself =D

Asda's a bus ride away from campus. About 15 minutes or so. The buses are regular and cheap enough.

Hey fellas,

So I have this situation again, and I thought maybe someone can help me think of something? I'm going to Lithuania on Monday for a few days and my plane leaves at 6:00am from Liverpool's Airport. Could anyone give me any ideas of how can I get there as later as possible? Because I actually don't want to stay in Liverpool's Airport from 8:00pm till 6:00am like I did last time... Does anyone know when is the latest train from Preston to Liverpool, and when is the latest bus from Lime Street station in Liverpool to Airport? Is a taxi really 40 pounds?

Thanks in advance guys!

Last train gets into Liverpool in 2354 (leaves Preston 2243). A taxi won't cost £40, more like £20, though there's a bus that runs 24 hours from outside Lime St

Hey man, are you serious about that bus? So is that possible for me to catch after I've arrived to Preston at about 00:30? Maybe I could find more info on some website, so that I don't bother? Thanks mate.

There's no bus from Preston to Liverpool Airport. Was talking about a bus from Liverpool city centre to Liverpool Airport

Last service 500 is at 0015 from Lime Street to the Airport, however, there is another bus that goes between the two through the night (service X2).
