What's it like as a student at Cambridge? How much free time do you get?

Ooooh, another Cambridge thread! There really is a glut of them at the moment, not entirely sure it's a good thing.

It's hard work, but it's good. "Free time" depends on how you define free time - you can choose to go out partying all night and write your essay at 5am, or you can stay in and work. It also depends what subject you do - the science subjects have a lot more lectures and structured timetable, but the Arts do have to read loads in between.

Depends what subject you do! Artists seem to have quite a bit and I seem to have virtually none...! You have less free time here than you would if you were doing the same subject at another uni - apart from anything else because the terms are shorter: they need to fit everything in. The terms are really intensive and knackering!! But it is good fun. And you REALLY appreciate your lie-ins when you get them...
