I'm not sure, it probably is.Mystudent number is 8 digits long. Your's would probably start with 09......

Yeah it starts with 09. But if anyone can check I'll rep.

Unless they changed it this year, (which I don't think they have) your student number will be the same as your ucas number, which would be 8 or 9 digits long and starts with the year you're coming to uni in (so 07/08/09 etc).

Okay, I guess it is the one on the letter. Worst thing that can happen is I'll have to register again.

Your student number is just your UCAS number.

you should keep important letters you know....i had a mate who turned up on his first day of uni and no one had a clue who he was or anything. Luckily he kept all his acceptance and welcome letters to prove he did actually have a place etc....rather bizzare

no it isnt.....

a uni will give you a specific number to which they refer to you as for your duration of study...ur ucas number becomes pretty much void as soon as you start your degree.

My student number is my ucas number so I will have it for the duration of my course. Why create a new number when everyone has already got individual numbers to identify them!
I have a University Of Leicester number

begins with 09 - total of 9 numbers.

Yeah. It would be void if Leicester didn't adopt it as the Student number... but they do.
When were you a student?

I have a student number that isn't my UCAS I.D, it was in my letter confirming my making Leicester my firm choice. It begins with 09.

I solved this a while ago, it was the number on the accommodation letter (not UCAS number).

well it looks to me like current students' student numbers are the same as their ucas numbers and maybe for forthcoming freshers they are getting a different one.
