haha I'm so worried about this exam, how did you decide which poems were the most important?

I've chosen one with differnt themes in it and a few with similiar themes and different styles and gonna remember Hap and He Revolves to Say No More. =)

He Resolves to say no more -
religion and faith
searching for belief and truth
nature
time Let Time roll backwaard if it will / memory
irony - because his other poems was always about him searching for the truth and now he found it he doesn't like what he see and maybe if he was perhaps if he didn't know he would be happier even though he was constatntly searching for the truth.

The Oxen
talks aboutthe past in the first two stanza and then talk about the present in the thrid and fourth stanza so one of the theme is time.
religion
searching for the truth
alitteration
complete contrast to He Resolves to say No More because he wanted to believe that there cattle kneeling in the Oxen but he came to his senses by the last two stanza and knows that that will never happen but he still hopes that it would happen one day.

I look into My Glass
Aging
God
Time
Dream
it's an ABAB form
Would like it to Afterwards
Uses metaphore and personifications

etc.. I could do a few if you would like some on a word doc or on here..?

yeah sounds good!
a lot of it is own interpretation and yeah they're my key points. For some of the poetry im going to go deep (convergence, boterel, and during wind and rain which im doing seperately to the rest) but im going to answer the question quite widely in the exam.
And yes do that - it will be interesting! And lol about the site you're using! I told my class about that site and now they all love me :P

Okay, I have done 4/6 poems on there, because I am totally unsure about the others lol, so I will probably try and emulate your ideas  Obviously feel free to do the same to mine ^^

Oh and btw, I got 51/60 for my coursework apparently!

Any contributions to mine will be VERY much appreciated

Oh my gosh really?! :s-smilie:
What have you got quotes for techniques or examples of subject matter?
Oh noo looks like I'm going to have to get learning some then!
There seems to be loads of confusion between different teachers as to what exactly we are meant to be doing, no one seems to be saying the same thing :s-smilie:.

Another thing, I read on the AQA website that for the compulsory question that you'd get better marks if you encorporate the analysing of the extract and the wider reading, but my teacher told me it would be better to do the 2 parts seperately. Have you had any advice on this?

So glad I can talk to someone about this exam!!
Yeh there's a lot of conflict between teachers, my teacher said to do it seperately but I'm taking the gamble and going for what AQA say - it is a lot more cogent that way.
But quotes aren't hard to remember - just keep repeating. I'm sad enough to enjoy it!!

Yeah I'm doing the course distance learning so everyone at my school is doing a different syllabus by a different board lol. What sort of quotes are you learning though, what features of the poems do they show?
