Suitable ID for Pubs/Clubs

My mate just turned 18 and he is one of them people who is 18 but doesnt look it! Before he used to often get asked for ID in Pubs n Clubs n get screwed over cos he didnt have any ID!

Now that he is 18...what can he show them to prove his age? He doesnt have a driving liscense yet so thats not an option...what else can he show? Surely he doesnt have to bring his birth certificate or passport does he :laugh:

Passport or provisional/full photocard driving license. These are the only 2 allowed in most places now...

Just get him to get his ass in gear and get a provisional driving license- takes 2 weeks and costs a few quid.

I know people that have taken passports out, but a driving licence will do, always has for me anyway.

I guess some places accept the 'prove it' ID card thing, I dunno anyone thats ever used one though. The provisional would probably be your best bet.

NUS is easy to fake...so most places don't actually let you use it as ID.

Chances are, they wont be accepted in most places now. They are really clamping down on underaged entry. If you look U21, you'll get IDd.

Yeh actually thinking about it, NUS only works in the union suprisingly :-/

Get a driving licence, it costs a little more than it would for a fake one off a website and actually will be accepted by bouncers. Quite usefull learning to drive with as well. :smile:

Yeah, i had a fake one which did for the 6th form socials, but i thinkg you'd get LOL at if you tryed to use in most big clubs.

- Tell him to get a provisional, problem solved (you them have learn with 5years or whatever, but still, he should anyway!)

I think they may have a website.. aaagggeesss ago there used to be leaflets in co-ops and places like that for them, sorry I'm not more use I never got one.

Passport or FULL driving license are the only forms of ID that are certain to get you in. A lot of places won't take a provisional. Depending on the place, you can get in on a matriculation card (i.e. most places in Glasgow will let you in with a matric card) but not if you look TOO young. Luckily I must look ancient, I've never been ID'd in a pub (since I was 16 and started going to pubs) and I rarely get ID'd going into bars or clubs unless they're IDing everyone. Sometimes they'll ID anyone that looks under 25 just to be sure.
