Going To University At 17?

I have been told that I would not enjoy the experuence if I went at a young age.

Would it be hard for me to find an offer due to the age?

I don't thibk I would be too immature to go to university?

It's quite common in Scotland so you would be ok, would you be 17 for long?

I would start university a month after 17th birthday.

I know a couple of people who are 17 and at University, they don't struggle particularly with most aspects, however, it is a bit of a problem regarding wanting to go out to clubs and bars and that's a big part of the student experience. If you think you can cope without that, bearing in mind quite a lot of your peers will be doing so, then I don't think it will be an issue. Good luck to you!

I'm in the same situation; don't worry about it. Unless you get your mother to drive you to uni everyday, no one will notice. What course are you applying to?

Universities cannot base an offer based on your age.
Which uni? It might be easier at a Scottish uni because that's quite common, I know people that were 16. But at English unis it seems to be more 18/19 year olds in first year.
I was 17 until the January at uni, I didn't have a problem (OK it was a bit hard to get into clubs and stuff). It's normal in Scotland

I don't agree with rushing people through the education system. Going to university isn't just about getting a degree, and you won't be able to make the most of it if you're not 18.

I'll be 16 for a few weeks till my 17th :P

In my opinion it just depends if you reckon you are mature enough, I know if there was an emergency I could deal with it and I can look after myself lol

It's slightly frustrating, because being younger than the rest of the year might make it hard to make friends...

but my brother went at 17, or even 16? I think it was 16.

he had no problem at all.

I am hoping to apply for Law.

meh..."genius" is overrated...
A few of my friends will be 17 and off to uni. They're fine with it and so are the universities which accepted them.
If you feel ready, go for it.

Lol, would you happen to know if Advanced Higher is essential for Law?

Say I got like 5 A's or 4 A's and a B at higher, would lack of AH really stand in my way?
