What are the nonwestern developed countries?

Perhaps you should define Western. It isn't normally just a geographical term, it often decribes countries which are culturally, economically and millitarily aligned with the rich Western countries. For example, Australia and New Zealand, Israel, Japan, South Korea are often thought of as being Western.

So arguably, the only countries you could come up with have a combined population of about 6 million. I don't see that Islamic empire sweeping away the West emerging anytime soon.

I think this is just another West-bashing thread by someone who desperately hopes the West will fall.

Oh, and it's funny that the OP doesn't mention Israel which is a developed country in Asia after all.

There's a variety of views about what constitutes the West. Clearly, it can often include countries like Australia and New Zealand, which are culturally Western and indeed, largely populated by Europeans. Israel is culturally Western with a big proportion of its population being Europeans, economically and millitarily it is aligned with the West. Japan and South Korea are also allied with the West and have a lot of economic trade and ties with the West. They also have a lot of cultural influences from the West.

We'd need to talk about definitions to do this thread justice.

I think Japan is westernized but non-western.

There isn't really that many of these developed non-western states - Israel is one and some of the micro gulf states that sit on tons of oil. I really can't think of anywhere the OP hasn't mentioned.

Just goes to show how many leagues ahead the western world is really.

Israel is culturally western, with a big population of Europeans? Eh? Israel is Jewish and Arab, it probably couldn't be more middle eastern if it tried. Japan and Korea are in the middle of Asia, we trade alot with China. No were and not from anyone have I heard Israel and Japan(?) being classed as western countries.

As for Israel - there are lot's of people of European descent there - fair skin, light hair etc. There are over a million Russians alone.

Australia and New Zealand are 'in the middle of Asia' as well but are still considered Western. It's not just a geographical term in this context.

According to you it seems anywhere with pop music and a lack of crushing poverty is western. Who ever said it on Question Time must of had there own adgena because no one in thier rightmind would consider Japan or Korea western.

Israel is full of Russian Jews, not ethnic Russians. Jews are a middle eastern/central asian people. Nothing to do with Christianity or old Christendom.

To me, they are Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea.

All have higher mean living standards, which is the definition of first world status.

The US is full of so called 'non westerners', yet it's still a western country. Being western has more to do with cultural origins, history, ethics and morals.
