Looked in the mirror... oh dear

I just looked in the mirror and I'm not very pleased with what I saw, Am I destined to look like a big fat blob forever? I'm all bulging everywhere and it looks rank! Does anyone else get that when they look in the mirror and they just want to disappear because what they see is so ugly that it belongs under a very large stone?

Anyway sorry about that :frown:
No need to be sorry. I'm sure we all feel like that at times. Sometimes I just want to cry when I look in the mirror, and I'm gorgeous...
It depends which mirror I look in.

one can make me look amazing, the other .. etc :p:

Yes I usually feel like that when I look in the mirror. Do something about it if you're not happy.
I feel your pain. I'm feeling rather lardy at the moment (I gain weight really easily). I've been going to the gym almost every day, which helps, but I wish it made me thin instantly. It's so depressing when you've come home from aerobics, and are feeling all healthy and thin, and then try to get changed and can't do your trousers up...

My advice is to start drinking lots of water each day. It's really good for you, and can help get rid of water retention, meaning that you'll feel a bit thinner. Do things that make you cheerful - much as I hate the idea of exercise, and feel like running away and hiding when I'm doing it, I feel loads better afterwards.

Almost everyone feels ugly sometimes whether they admit or not, try to focus on whats positive about how you look. I know its a cliche but seriously there is no point in getting down about it, after all beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

having said that everyone should aim to live as healthily as possible if only to feel fit to live... you know what i mean

I guess everyone feels like that at some point. If you think it's something you have control over, then go ahead and change it. But don't let it get you down.

For what it counts...from what I've seen on your faceparty profile, you have nothing to be worried about. And I'm sure there are plenty of other people who would agree with me.

thankyou, thats's really sweet of you. Unfortunately there's a reason that I only have face pictures on there.... unless I'm just being paranoid and seeing fat that isn't there

Aye, indeed, picture in fountains != fat blob.

I think I'm in danger of getting obsessive about my weight, every time I look in the mirror recently I've been wondering how to get rid of the remaining 'wings' I have even though I just found I can go down another belt notch (I only bought this belt last term and I'm already one notch from being too small for it  ).

I'm with Puppy though, do something if you're not happy, it might make you happier!

From what I've seen you really don't have anything to worry about. A lot of people think they look horrible, not because they really do, but because they have low self esteem in general. :frown: That can have a negative impact not only on the way you view yourself, but also how you behave. People can get into a vicious cycle of feeling unhappy about themselves and turning to food for comfort, or not going out because they feel so bad. Try to get more invovled in things you like doing and concentrate on the things you do like about yourself. Positve thoughts lead to positive behaviour, and positive results.

That picture was taken when I was 15, I'm now 18 and have filled out a lot. The only reason it's still on there is cos it's the only picture of my body I've ever liked. I go swimming twice a week and do 100 sit ups and other little exercises every day so it's not like I'm not trying, I just hate feeling big.

My money's still on you being thinner than you think. Often people who are in good shape and do excercise get paranoid about losing the body they have, so they think they're out of shape when they're not.

However if you are keen on losing weight, you're going the right way about it. I suppose you could combine it with a diet and make the process even quicker.
losing weight wont make you happy. i have a feeling you are seeing fat that isnt there. go out and buy a bright lipstick- instant gorgeousness in a tube!!

Eat loads of protein and do weight training at the gym. Lay off the cardio. ALWAYS eat if you feel hungry.

i get that from time to time, quite recently actually thats why i make a big deal of people telling me im pretty and so on, because i dont see whatever it is that they see.
I do, often... despite being a size 8-10 top and 10 bottoms which most people wouldn't call fat, but I hate my legs :frown::frown:

You have to have a bit of self love in the first place to have it fluctuating.
