Aaaarrggghhhh, please tell me you didn't say that! The women's prison has nothing , repeat nothing to do with Royal Holloway! For a start, they are nowhere near each other; RHUL isn't even in London for goodness sake.

Oh! I thought that was an extension of ur halls

Still, prison or no prison a good place to go from what I've heard.

Academically it’s brilliant, aesthetically it’s pleasing, the sports teams are excellent and there are gazillions of societies and clubs to join, there’s also a strong close knit community, and you can go into London anytime. I have to say though if you’re a city person you will find living in Egham rather strange.

Rubbish! It's named after the founder, Thomas Holloway, a Victorian philanthropist (who allegedly made his fortune through selling quack medicines!)

Sorry man, its too hot, got mixed up with the name, I knew it was something Holloway and he was a scientist, at least thats what they said on the open day, blame them not me :p:

Egham really scared me when I went there, as well as the "frequent" bus links between the station and the main campus.

Phew.

lol, how'd it scare you?

By being so dreadful. Old fat man reading the Mirror who just sat around not letting anyone on the minibus (despite hard rain) then grunted at everyone as we got on getting mud all over the bus. Eeek

when doing some college research, ive decided to definitley apply here. I looked on google, and the campus looks amazing! but im wondering why i never heard of it before? hows the reputation in the UK, prestige , etc? i cant figure out why i havent heard the name when this uni has so much to offer. oh and what are all the schools under the University of london( out of curiousity)

I think that's because everyone refer it as part of UCL...
Yeah it's amazing college, I went there for a physics lecture and the campus was pretty impressive.

I never realised about RHUL till i saw it on a league table. Looked at the website, fell 'in love' (as only you can with a University...), applied and got in. Simple... hurrah!

Did you know the infamous Malcolm the bus driver for Kingswood/Brunel Runneymede died a few months ago? People loved/hated him. It's so odd now - you really feel his presence missing as in no more complaining/defending the guy. I still have mixed feelings about how great/horrible he was. He gradually grew to be kinder and more bearable towards the end.He was so lonely, old and so slow as was the bus.

If you were there, you would drop your mirror copy and bow your head in shame.

Well stop giving the impression RHUL is bad. It rocks!

Reply 36

You obviously havent been reading anything that I posted then if you came to that impression. RHUL is excellent, but my journey there was "interesting".

Meh, you’ve only mentioned the bus driver being the real asset to RHUL.
