Yes.

If the car was travelling at like 30~40mph, an egg travelling at that speed could cause some damage.

Get their number plate next time

Yep, it is assualt. If you feel strongly about it you can report it to the police - Just because it happened in a school, it doesnt make it less of a crime.

If you dont think its much of a big deal - thats fine, you're welcome to just drop it and leave it there.

Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly.
Someone threw an egg at me from their car as I was walking out of my school but I couldn't see who it was. I'm allergic to egg so I came out in a big rash :frown: . My dad keeps saying it's "assault" and i should report it to the headteacher and security, but I don't think it's that much of a big deal?

How random, ermm even if the police classed it as assault they wont do anything they will just get a warning...if they get caught, which they probably wont.
Some people need to sort their lifes out..seriously, throwing eggs at people

By law it is assault. Could even be battery, since you neednt even touch someone to commit assault.

Lol yeah I noticed that but chose not to say anything haha.

I've been hit twice with eggs when running. Once I let it slide, the second, I pulled the rear wiper off the car when it got stuck at the lights.

The police wont do anything x

i think it is battery cos for assault there needs to be a fer of an attack or danger but that is probably just rubbish. tbh i fthe rash has cleared up no need to 'press charges', dont want to go down the american route of being a ridiculously whingy and over litigious society if poss but up to you

I don't feel the need to consult the police but my dad obvs thinks COMPLETELY differently...

Reply 11

It happened to my friend once but it was dark and I couldn't get the number plate. I probably would have hunted them down if I had got a good look at the car.

Assault is causing the victim to apprehend immediate unlawful personal violence.
Battery is the infliction of unlawful personal violence.

It would probably be considered a battery, but i very much doubt anything would come of it. Just a slap of the wrist at the very most.

Reply 13

Unless it's a really big deal for you, I'd leave it. Probably very little will come of it and it will be a lot of hassle to get anything done.

Reply 14

Maybe it just slipped out the persons hand?

First time it happened I was in a better mood, had done a loooong run, so was buzzing, and kinda foresaw it as there were a lot of broken eggs about so it was obvious someone was dicking about.

The second time, it was out of the blue, and I just found myself overcome with rage. I figured if you're gonna do something so aggressive and frankly cowardly, then you deserve all you get. I'd also got plenty left in the tank to outrun them if they got out of the car!!
