Basic pythag?

lolhenry
You would use the sine section.

x / 10 = sin70

x = (10)(sin70)

Ok thats alot
Reply 5
to find EF :

sin20 = EF/10
(sin20) x 10 = EF

or

cos70 = EF/10
(cos70) x 10 = EF
Reply 6
anyone got a good way to remember graph transformations while we're here? :smile:
Reply 7
Um,

cos 70 = EF / 10

EF = 0.342*10

It's all about applying trigonometric ratios.

Look on their location in profilee .. :rolleyes:

cos F = A/H (adjacent /hypotenuse)
F = 70 so cosF = 0.342 (according to the table)
0.342 = EF /10
3.24 = EF

hope that makes sense/is right lol

i have never seen a question like this in edexcel

It's basic trig but instead of having to use your calculator they give you the solutions. Use the Sine rule. EF is the opposite angle (call it x). It's easy because they tell you what sin20 is.

x/10=sin20
x=10(0.324)
x=3.24
