I take it we're not allowed to discuss drugs then?

Last night on here there was a thread on drugs with everyone essentially condemning them and the people that use them. So I typed a long and very carefully worded reply saying most people who do drugs are normal, the chances of dying from ecstasy are essentially very low etc...and now the thread has disappeared. So I take it that we're not allowed to discuss drugs unless we're condemning them as evil? Because the thread was allowed to exist with all these people condemning it and then it disappears when I mount a defence, despite stressing several times that drugs were in fact illegal. So do we all have to toe the moderators line on this then?

if the other one got deleted, surely this one will too...

*shrug*

i think it's sad...

obviously there's the issue of protecting younger members from material that they shouldn't be exposed to too young... but also if they have no information on them they are more likely to be exposed to danger when they are out in the real world

well its asking a question to the moderators really - they let a thread exist when everyone says drugs are evil and take it down when i defend them - i wasn't promoting or condoning the usage of them. People were saying anyone who takes drugs must be unhinged, have problems, be depressed etc and that is simply not true FACT.

This sort of censorship just breeds ignorance like the sort I see whenever a drug thread pops up on here. This sort of attitude is the Daily Mail attitude whereby if you don't outright condemn something then you are 'promoting' usage. look at the governments 'talk to frank' website. That is there for kids and the Daily Mail slagged it off because it dared to discuss why some people take drugs. Nearly all drug websites also say, 'look drugs are illegal, but if you do choose to take them, this is the safest way to do it'. Sure I have no problem if moderators delete a post saying ' drugs are great, everybody do them, they don't do any harm'. but it seems defend drugs even slightly and they'll censor your view to maintain the 'drugs are evil' line.

If some kid reads that, makes his mate take ectasy and his mate dies, we could be in very hot water.

that is an encoraging remark and we will not let it happen. Drugs arnt big or clever and there is no safe way of taking drugs.
