When addressed with a question about the prose that we studied. Do you think its best to have a structure already in your head. If so could you please recommend me a structure. Or is it best to just directly address the question and only talk about things that relate to it. I think i know my prose fairly well and will be able to say alot about any question asked, and was just wondering whether to lay my essay out in a particular way.
If it's a significance of the character question, I use this method:
Character x is significant to the novel because of the role she plays in "helping Scout to understand the prejudices of Maycomb" (Example.) Then go on to a physical description packed full of quotes, and a brief overview of the relationships with each character.
