Edexcel Biology A2 Synoptic

Seeing as Edexcel seem to really tight about the release of past papers, especially synoptic (unit 6) does anyone think it would be a good idea for people doing the course to post the synoptic essay titles they know on here so that we can all get an idea of what to expect?

Heres 2 that i have done:
Write an essay on one of the following topics:
- The roles of proteins in living organisms (15 marks)
- The structures and functions of different plant cells (15 marks)

These are both from Jan 2004,
Hope everyone can help!!!
and GOOD LUCK!!!

for BIOLOGY, either

''the production and transport of metabolic wastes in mammals''
''the effects of light on flowering plants''

for BIOLOGY (HUMAN), either:
''the production and transport of metabolic wastes in mammals''

are they not usually a 25 mark question?

the essay is out of fifteen. There's like three marks for balance of AS and A2 material, one mark for coming across as literate etc.
another essay can be on the digestion of carbohydrates in hetrotrpohic and ruminant digestive systems, i got that in a past paper

Does somebody want to edit the top of the thread so that it reads all the ones that are there already?? Btw i can provide model plans for a fair few of these if someone wants me to start a second thread (no web space :frown: )

K, can't find papers right this second (have the entire new legacy back ) but we did go through in class with Caroline and write all the new essay titles we could think of that were truly synoptic so here are some "bonuses" (These are all regular biology btw)

1. Structure and Function of Lipids in living organisms
2. Structure and Function of Carbohydrates in living organisms
3. Structure and Function of Proteins in living organisms
4. Structure and Function of Membrane bound organelles in living organisms
5. Structure and Function of Membranes
6. Function of water in living organisms
7. Structure of enzymes and industrial usage

Those were all module 1 based (as in most stuff from that module, bring in other stuff to make it synoptic)

Module 2
1. Structure and Function of plant cells
2. Transport in living organisms
3. Role of pigments in living organisms
4. Structure and function of animal cells

Module 3
1. Digestion of carbohydrates in hetrotrpohic and ruminant digestive systems

Module 4
1. The production and role of ATP in L.Os
2. The production and transport of metabolic wastes

Module 5
1. Structure of DNA and point mutations
2. Chemical coordination in L.O's
3. Mode of nutrition in L.O's
4. Response to external stimuli
