oh forgot to ask....i know that this is a bit of an impossible Q...but trying to sort out money with the parents. those of you already there, roughly how much are ur living expenses each week excluding accomodation? i've got no idea how to go about working out how much im going to need!

astonbitch, its ok. i dont think that would help, i mightaswel get hold of them on tuesday.

indy punk, a train to bham sounds extreme. only if i knew for sure they would be there tommrow or on bank holiday.lol.

i always do crap like this, blady hate it.

what about the student finance letter peoples. you lot going to send it off to aston or show them at enrolment?

i just went to my post box down my road to check whether they collect mail on sunday.

it said that they do which is good. they also do on bank holidays. only at 12.15 though. thats a little bit of relieve as my replys can be in the post tommorow. now the only question if anyone would know or care to guess. seeing as they collect post, do you think they sort and deliver aswel on sundays and bank holidays.

i think they sort, but dont deliver....well i dont think anyone gets post on sundays anyway,not sure about bank holidays, but i dont think there'll be any problem if it's there on tues morning. If the deadline was friday, they wont have had time to process and allocate 'untaken' rooms anyway, so yours shouldn't be at risk! THey cant possibly have worked out all the rooms which havent been taken, and reallocated them all, all in an afternoon surely!!! i wouldnt worry....just make sure its there on tues!

yea i guess they cant have had it sorted.

im just worried that there may be a waiting list for lakeside cancellations. and they will be backlogged with mail on tuesday. hopefully a nicely filled out form with the deposit should help with reducing extra paperwork for them sending out new offers on my room.

im going to ring them or email them on tuesday though. there doesnt seem to be a phone number for the accomodation office and on astons website theres 2 email addresses for the accomodation office. best to send to the first one, Diane Lacey?

im going to be crossing my fingers until then.

Damn i am really worried, i have sent my acceptance letter yesturday, on the RM 1st class recorded delivery service, however i am worried since its bank holiday on monday, it may not get there in time, does anyone know, if royal mail deliver post on bank holidays?

ive sent my letters today.

devil jin if you sent your acceptance letter for aston yesterday then your ok because the last date for that is on thursday however if you in the same boat as me for accomodation, fingers crossed for you too.

i feel a load off my mind. just have to see what happens.

did anyone know that post gets collected on sunday and bank holidays?weird, first i heard of that was yesterday.

for me the date is wednesday. since the AS12 was printed on the 17/08/05 therefore +14 days = to 31/08/05 my dead line

however since i sent it on RM 1st class recorded delivery, hopefully it should get there on tuesday

p.s on a off topic note, did any get a letter form Geoff Carpenta , congradulating (SP?) them on there results?

oh yea, my as12 was on the 17th aswel, however thats abit gay cos i recieved it on the 18th before i went to get my results.

it also says on the letter that you have 14 days from recieving the letter. wouldnt that mean you got until thursday 1st??

well thats what i thought anyway. god dam that was a close shave then. if i had sent the letters any later and i would have been in trouble.

lol. im worried mine didnt get there in time too! i posted it last monday morn 2nd class normal stamp and it had to get there by fri. but cos it wasnt recorded/second class im worrying it didnt get there which is highly unlikely really. :| hopefully theyve got everyones in time!

living expenses-----i eran about 20 a wekk and get 50 a month from rents so thats about £130 over a four week period.......thats roughly what i will be surviving on this year minus living expenses.....soem peeps get more........that roughly covers nites out/phone credit and shopping for me.......

it really depends how much you are going to use on phone/food/going out

Top tip to all you freshers you need your passport to enrol !!!!!

i didnt bring mine so had to enrol a few days later, this means you will get your loan abit later.

Ill give you a clue, im fairly small, haha

thanks kt....i'm sooo confused, student budgets on the net seem to reckon about £120 quid a week, although that includes some money for books etc. my arents want me to work out what i need coz im not using my loan, but i dont know how much! argh!!!
