I always save papers about a month before the actual exams, so therefore I can perfect the exam technique. Therefore I don't find papers particularly useful at an early stage.

One thing I did find useful throughout the Physics course was "Practice in Physics" by Akrill, Millar, Chris.

It's got a huge amount of questions on all of the topics that come up at A-level, and they require quite a bit of thought to work through. They aim to test your application skills rather than regurgitating notes.
