I'm doing this

I've done no revision for it yet because the Unit one paper was today so i concentrated on that.

I failed it (E) in January

Time to start revising I'm thinking. I've got two other exams as well that day. :frown: I think all exam board should check over with eachother - no matter how hard it may be, I personally think it's a tad silly

RS: The ethics paper and a philosophy resit.

What about you?
write model answers for the questions you can predict might come up  thats what we did for like a week towards the end of the year.
im doing this exam, got 100UMS in january for Unit 1, hoping to get above 90UMS in Unit 2.
do loads of past papers, even the ones from the old syllabus are useful even if they are set out differently. we also did mind maps of all the points you could make about a little topic, and cases and stuff with pictures to remember them. quite useful to stick on the wall.
i cant think of anything else, if i do, il post again..

I'll add, when you are talking about a particular area of the law, like crimes of omission (for actus reus), make sure you cite case references. For instance, if you look at the six areas where liability for crimes of omission exists, one of them is the contractual duty to act. For this, you should mention what the omission is about and use a famous case reference to accompany it. In this case, it would be R V Pitwood.

Any tips for the problem solving?

Thanks for the tips though!

six areas?

we were only told five

- Contractual - R v Pittwood
- Voluntarily - R v Stone + Dobinson
- Relationship - R v Gibbins + Proctor
- Official Position - R v Dytham
- Rectifying dangerous situation - R v Woollin (I think its woollin)

Just checked my book and they distinguish omissions like failing to wear a seat belt or stopping after a road accident from the the voluntary omissions, which it is obviously is a part of. The five you stated are right.

My, law is so interesting.

Oh, I'm a bit confused but cool:p:
Under actus reus, we got told to do: 1) Positive + Voluntary acts including automatism, 2)Omissions 3)state of affairs

But the question may specify which ones to talk about :p:

If that's right. Are you doing this exam??

Yeah, actus reus can be either:

1) An act eg. a punch.
2) An omission eg. Failing to provide care for a person you have assumed responsibility over.
3) State of affairs

Yeah, I did AQA Law, but the old spec. My memory of it is fading, but I hope to study Law at uni, so this will rekindle my fading memory. But there's just too much to remember.

Are you doing AQA new spec btw? I've not been told to do most of this so in a way I hope you aren't!!
