What do you reckon you will get? I'm aiming for a 7.
Reply 4
I'd get pissed off with any less than a 7.

what do these percentages actually mean?
i understand them for paper1, u get a 7 from approximately 18 (out of 25) points.
but how do these work in the grading of essays?

you should have the paper with that on as part of the syllabus. Each essay for paper two and three is marked out of 20, 17+ being a 7, etc. The %'s I gave were for the total for each paper.

Garibaldi, you're wrong. For P2 e.g. (looking at subject reports), 28/40 is usually the limit for a 7, i.e. it's often enough to get 14/20 in order to get a 7.

Sometimes. It seems that questions vary on what you need.
many are
[0 to 7 marks] Fail to Level 3
[8 to 10 marks] Level 4
[11 to 13 marks] Level 5
[14 to 16 marks] Level 6
[17+ marks] Level 7

But some are;

0 to 7 marks - Fail to level 4
8 to 10 marks - Level 5
11 to 13 marks - Level 6
14 to 16+ marks - Level 7

so is the 71 needed to get a 7 out of 100? (100 being the percentage points, with 20% coming from IA, etc?)
