have you read Paul Preston's biograpghy on Franco, if not i would. I found it such an eye opener. It's amazing how in general we never learn anything about Franco in history lessons but he was such a brutal man and was a dictator for almost 40 years. I did my history long study on the civil war in Spain and for ages afterwards i would start ranting about it at any opportunity.

In answer to the first question.... left, i think doing history definately shaped my views

i agree on the studying history front, but i think its equally important to study the present form ALL angles available.

Yes...I would be a Socialist if I knew it had some practical applications...however, my judgement is that it does not...also, based on reasons stronger than patrioism, I do not agree with the Left's pro-Europe stance

Here the government is socialistic and it has been on power since 1993, so I have many reasons to hate them.
They re precisely pseudo-socialists.

At least the next government election is on May, 2004.

No.. hardcore socialists are even against the Lib Dems. They don't want a central government at all. I have some socialist views but I don't consider myself one.. :smile:
