Rumours are going on that some/most guys dislike materialistic girls!!
What do you think guys? Does it really matter being so materialistic?

It's not an overly nice quality in anyone I'd've thought.
Wouldn't be a huge fan of a materialistic girl personally.....but hey....whatever floats your boat

Materialistic
If you wanted a materialistic girlfriend by one of those mags (like Hello etc.) and get an inflatable women.
Overly materialistic is a huge turn off.

Especially considering I have nearly nothing to my name, I need a girl who can cope with the fact that I'm not going to be able to afford to do lots of cool things, or go out a lot.

Thank heavens being a geek is cheap. ( Except for the computer ).
Personally i dont too much but i do start to mind if they go way over the top nd it starts to rule their life
I love material things, especially shoes, and kitchen things. I could shop all day if I was rich. But secretly I'd trade in all my shoes, and my kitchen gadgets, and even my books for a lovely man (under the premiss that if he actually is lovely, he wont take away my precious material things). But yeah, I had forgotton how depressing it is to care about finding a man, so I might give up again.

I'm not materialistic in the slightest...at least I don't think I am. I'll let Wzz answer that one.
This thread has got me singing 'Material Girl' in my head, which I don't mind at all because I quite like that song.

No, you're pretty close to the polar opposite. You're going to be tricky to buy things for

If by 'materialistic' you mean dull-witted and defining themselves by what they own (like most people these days) then yes, it matters. It's annoying in any creature higher up the tree of mental development than a jackdaw, male or female.
Now I like to have comfortable surroundings and if you ever met me you'd be surprised by how well dressed I usually am (), but I don't crave ownership of mere things. If I like them and can afford them, I shall have them, but I won't let it bother me if I can't, and I sure as hell won't borrow money to get them.
