I'm taking it! Thought I was ok, did a paper yesterday that wasn't so good... I seem to understand most of the principles, just either have difficulty applying them to the questions, or make stupid mistakes (like taking out a factor, integrating the rest of it then not multiplying by 1/4 again...)

Should be fine here except for with vectors, but I'm going to cane those tomorrow with revision. Done tons of past papers, I can almost see the first question of the paper now:

'Use the R method........' [6] or even [7]

oh well seems that everyone has most problems with vectors; i personally can't stand them lol and is definately where i will lose marks

i havent started any serious revision for it but the majority of the marks come from vectors so im just going to concentrate on mastering that.

but looking at past papers they give you some easy marks so on some of those section a 6 mark questions

I had problems with vectors when I first took it but understand them so much more now! If anyone needs past papers PM me with your email as I have quite a few.

I'm most worried about integration and possible differential equations

in almost all of the papers i've done, the long questions have been parametric equations with trig. vector ones are usually simple.

btw does anyone have any practice papers that aren't official mei ones? i want to save those for later.

thanks
if you mean the ones off the mei website
http://rapidshare.com/users/NDV9KF/
if you download the file, you'll find them under specimen papers
hope that helps

yeah i'm doing it monday as well. vectors seem to be a universal problem: our teacher who was teaching us C4 passed on the vectors chapter to our other teacher because he doesn't understand it that well!
i know most of the stuff: only problem is not making stupid mistakes...

This paper is just disgusting.

I am doing loads of papers and i keep on getting banged.

Although, the more recent papers like jan 08-jan 09 are cool

I love vectors - I think the concept itself is fairly straightforward and simple (simple algebra, addition, multiplication, trig, etc), but it's just new...

You guys check out the MEI site? The resources there are super!

I don't find vectors that hard, its just the diagrams they give look so complicated but they're actually quite simple. Its parametric equations and differential equations I have problems with, but I'm more worried about the comprehension. Anyone done any of the comprehensions?

comprehension's actually quite easy.. there's loads of text, but you don't need to read it all. you get an hour to do it, and i'd say it only takes about 20 mins max. it's a really good way to boost your mark if you mess up the paper A

The paper shouldn't be too much of a massacre relying on the fact that your well accustomed with the general principals.. And vectors, you need to know those beasts pretty well.
