Yeah I got 6000 too. Really hope it gets marked though because I got another answer before that and didn't have room to write it in so had to do it on scrap paper and attach it to the answer paper :s-smilie:

I think you should be fine as long as you crossed out your first answer.

Yeah I did :smile:

Missed out on 4 marks at the end of section B because I ran out of time. Rest of the paper was fine and the comprehension was easy. What did everyone get for how many goes before the average was -1.999? 6000?

I got 4000.

That paper wasn't too bad. Though question 8 completely baffled me at first, I think I managed to figure out how to do it.

What did people get as R in the first question? I got square root 17, but I'm sure it's wrong even though I checked it about 3 times.

Can you remember how you did that? I speny ages trying and failed :frown:
so am I the only one here who thought questions 1 - 7 were an uphill struggle?

(1+1+((n-2)x-2))/n=-1.999
6-2n=-1.999n
6=0.001n
n=6000

I thought it was an ok paper.

I liked Section A a lot, question 7 vectors = meh, question 8 I liked as it was mathsy had to the tan part twice as I started with the choice of values that didn't work out nicely (45-15) and switched to (15+15), comprehension I was laughing I know a bit about basic Game Theory never expected to need it for C4 though =D

first two values have to equal 1, 1, after that all values=-2

2-2(r-2)/r=1.999

worked out as r=6000

I'm probs not right though!

average = (2-2(n-2)) / n
average = (2 -2n + 4) / n
average = (6 -2n) /n

-1.999n = 6-2n
0.001n =6
n = 6000

argh this was hard!

comprehension was okay, didnt get 6000 tho

main paper i messed up the revolution, cot thetha question and the back page wasnt that great

anyone got the paper?
I thought section A wasn't too bad but just couldnt do any of question 8 hardly and ran out of time too :frown:
aw, yup I cocked that up one :frown:

Yeah I think so. I thought that was a really odd little question!
i think i may have got k=1.34 that sounds kinda right...

Is the paper anywhere online yet?
i had 6000, then changed it to 4000 because 4000 gives an average score of -1.9985 which rounds up to -1.999. don't think i should have done that.
1.34 sounds familiar

Got that in the dying seconds of the paper I put that:

cosec2x=1+cot2x[br][br]andthat,1+cot2x+cotx=3[br][br]cot2x+cotx2=0 cosec^2x = 1 + cot^2x[br][br]and that, 1 + cot^2x + cotx = 3[br][br]cot^2x + cotx - 2 = 0

Then did some factorising for the second part.
