I'd say (one of many) in Happiness - The Fray
"Happiness is like the old man told me/look for it and you'll never find it at all/but let it go/live your life and leave it/then one day you'll wake up and/she'll be home."

I don't want to have to see you happy.
I can't even bare to see you smile.
Nowadays I can't look in your eyes &...
Well I can but it takes a while
If you're strong.
Told a lot of white lies to hide it all.
But they're beginning to break me down,
Though I promise it's over now.

I'm Gone - Jay Sean

Most of his lyrics are amazing and make me love his songs majorly!

EDIT: LOL whoever negged me for this post - you could have least have left your name, you waste ^_^

'Cause out of all the people I've known
The places I've been
The songs that I have sung
The wonders I've seen
Now that the dreams are all coming true
Who is the one that leads me on through?

It's you
Who puts me in the magic position, darling now
You've put me in the magic position, darling so
Let me put you in the magic position, darling 'cause
I'm singing in the, the major key

You walk in from your mother's balcony
Panda-eyed and freezing cold
You bury yourself in my chest to warm
I notice the goosebumps on your arms, millions
And whether it's because of the numbers of hours spent laid facedown on my bed listening to white noise, or, well, obviously it's not, I somehow manage to translate them from braille

The trails on your skin spoke more to me than the reams and reams of half finished novels you'd leave lying all over the place
And every quotation that'd dribble from your mouth like a final, fatal livejournal entry
I know
I am wrong
I am sorry

Well I don't feel better
When I'm ******* around
And I don't write better
When I'm stuck in the ground
So don't teach me a lesson
Cause I've already learned
Yeah the sun will be shining
And my children will burn

Oh the heart beats in its cage

I don't want what you want
I don't feel what you feel
See I'm stuck in a city
But I belong in a field

Yeah we got left, left, left, left, left, left, left,
Now it's three in the morning and
You're eating alone

Oh the heart beats in its cage

All our friends they're laughing at us
All of those you loved, you mistrust
Help me, I'm just not quite myself
Look around there's no one else left
I went to the concert and I fought through the crowd
Guess I got too excited when I thought you were around

Oh, he gets left, left, left, left, left, left, left

I'm sorry you were thinking I would steal your fire
Oh the heart beats in its cage
Yes the heart beats in its cage
Alright

And the heart beats in its cage.

The Strokes- Heart in a cage, the sound of the song and Julian Casablancas crooning is enough!

Conservative say: there ain't no black in the union jack
Democrat say: there ain't enough white in the stars and stripes

Compton - Harlem - a pimp ****** a priest
The white man has just found a new moral saviour
Vital stats - how white was their skin
Unimportant - just another inner-city drive-by thing

Morning - fine - serve your first coffee of the day
Real privilege, it will take your problems all away
Number one - the best - no excuse from me
I am here to serve the moral majority

I have trouble deciding whether lyrics or the beat is more important to me, but most of my favorite songs are favorites because the lyrics are so real and close to my way of thinking, somehow i relate to them.

This is one of my favorites: Moment of Truth by Gang Starr
Actions have reactions, don't be quick to judge
You may not know the hardships people don't speak of
It's best to step back, and observe with couth
For we all must meet our moment of truth
Sometimes you gotta dig deep, when problems come near
Don't fear things get severe for everybody everywhere
Why do bad things happen, to good people?
Seems that life is just a constant war between good and evil
(i could've posted all the lyrics but seeming as that would've become too long and no one would read it all i thought i'd just post the bit i like the most..)

You won't regret it, both their albums are amazing and some EP tracks can be found online. Can't wait for them to come back to the UK to tour.

Los Campesinos - This Is How You Spell "HAHAHA I've Destroyed The Hopes And Dreams Of A Generation Of Faux-romantics"
Los Campeinos!' lyrics are always incredible. They're one of the few bands where the words really make you feel something. I like:

"So, maybe the lining of a winter's coat mightn't be the best place to hide a summer secret

Said every photo that you took that festival got lost in your camera in an insurance scam

And though underexposed, I could see from the quality, his K Records t-shirt and you holding his hand

And I know he took you to the beach, I can tell from how you bite on your cheek, every time the sand falls from your insoles

And when our eyes meet, all that I can read, is "you're the b-side"."

Although I can think of so many others that could equal it.

That was my second choice and there are so many more that I could just flood this thread with Los Campesinos!

And to your sig, Charlie Brooker is the man!
