How do i use simpsons rule if the value of n is odd?

e.g.

b=2.4
a = 2

integral 2/6+lnx with 5 ordinates

If the number of ordinates is odd then the number of gaps between the ordinates is even... you should always have an odd number of ordinates. You effectively have 4 'slithers'.

sorry i dont understand, in the formula book the formula for h = b-a/n when n is even
