I found a great deal on an Xbox 60gb (comes with free extra controller and 4 games), and I was just wondering what other accessories would you recommend I needed?

Do I need anything extra to get XBox live? Should I buy those 'play and charge' kits for the controller, or would batteries suffice?

Also could you recommend me some good games to get me started, I'm not that fussy, although I don't really like sports games!

Thanks.

a wired controller is so much better, and you will need a gold xbox live mebership but you will get 1 month free

i would say the wireless controllers are fantastic! very handy. As for starter games Call of duty 4/5 or fallout are good options. Gears of war is also a fantastic game!

Play and charge kit is amazing. I would of spent so much money on batteries over the 3 years ive had the P+C kit, for the £10er or whatever its is worth it.

Wireless controllers are amazing though, so much freedom!

Keep that receipt for when for 360 gets faulty. You might go through 6 or 7 consoles in the next 12 months :awesome: just joking.

Buy a USB Switch Kit. It'll allow you to use your PC monitor as a screen for the Xbox, and switch instantaneously between your Xbox and PC.

plug and play, lasts so much longer than batteries, cheaper in the long run
if you want internet you can buy a wireless plug in thing for £60 but id recommend wired, faster AND you dont get kicked off in the middle of games like i did!
xbox live gold membership, best to get 1 year for £35-£40
errrm think thats about it...
maybe an extra headset incase the one it comes with breaks unexpectedly (my puppy found mine )

Not even. Microsoft know by your serial number :P

The battery pack is a good idea to consider as it will save money in the long run. Or just normal rechargeable batteries..

The wireless controllers eat batteries :O You should get a rechargeable battery pack.

You might need a wireless adapter unless you can get access to the ethernet from you are. I can't, so I had to fork out for that.

And you'll need a Live subscription.

So far as games go, I recommend Bioshock and COD4. I'm still addicted to COD4 and bought it quite soon after it was released :O

get wireless controllers w/ battery packs...
xbox live is good if you have the following games imo;

Halo3,
Cod4,
Cod5,
Gears Of War,
Forza 2,
Red faction guerilla next week looks like a good MP buy...
Rainbow Six 2,

Grand theft auto is worth a playthrough.. online is reasonably fun too!

Problem with xbox atm is not many quality games bieng released, too many people concentrated on a handful of xbox live games (halo, call of duty etc)...

if you like RPG's... Fable II, Fallout 3, Mass Effect (ME was a quality RPG i must say, dont usually do offline play but it was immense).
