Digestion:

When dogs eat, food normally reaches the stomach within one minute. it then remains in the stomach for three to four hours.

The following observations were made.

1. Secretion of gastric juice began within five minutes of food enterting the mouth, even when food did not enter the stomach.

2. the result described in 1 also occured after only seeing the food.

Name the type of action shown in observation 2.

I'm thinking hormonal, but i'm not sure.

Any help?

using the eyes, which then sends nervous impules along the spinal cord to the brain, which in turn sends impuleses to the necessary organs to secrete the gastric juics. i personally think its all down to t he synapses and the nervous system with the optical nerves from the eyes to the brain - cerebellum

A reflex action? (the food being the stimulus to start it off)
