*Sigh*

I enjoy books for what they are . Comparing them to other books will just leave you disappointed :p:.

That's exactly the point! Looking past the fact they're trash and enjoying them anyway as mindless relaxation

They are not "trash" lol. Trash has no meaning.

These books? They have meaning.

I tried reading McEwan once, I think... never really got into that, but then I never really gave it a chance.

I'm currently reading the fourth book in the Corean Chronicles by L. E. Modesitt Jr... it's not going well because I just don't have that much time to read! Too busy doing other leisurely activities lol.

Last year of school. School Leaving Certificate exams (the last to be conducted, ever) in around seven months.
I might try to sneak a book to the toilet now and then, though.

So did I... pretty much every year from age 4 other than my first year at Cam on a course which threw about 10 books a week at me :p:

Wait, what kind of books?
Books pertaining to Psychology, Sociology, Politics and Social Anthropology.

The Psychology was more like case studies and details of experiments + analysis, so relatively technical in comparison.
Politics was mostly historical thinkers - so reading works by people such as Hobbes, Kant, Nietszche etc.
Sociology was one half classical thinkers (Durkheim, Marx, Weber) and then works by contemporary theorists on issues such as inequality, media and nationalism.
Social Anthropology was the most story like. It was usually an ethnography (description of a particular culture or people) followed by conclusions and analysis. Looked at tribes in the Stone Age and gypsies among other things
