    I'm not bothered whether I get an A or A*, just so long as I attain either in four or so subjects . An A*, in my view, is just an extension of the A grade. It's not really necessary, just designed to make few people think they're special. lol

    yeah but universities and employers don't see it that way

    True. The more I get A*'s, the better my chance of standing at the very very top of my class. 1st place winner = A*, that is.

    I'm quite sure the UMS system is similar to that at AS, except with different boundaries. For an A*, one requires 90/100, for an A, 80/100, and for a B, 70/100. Bear in mind that these are NOT the same as raw marks, for those who don't know that already; they are scaled according to the difficulty of the paper, etc.

    Just answer all the questions correctly, and you will be quite likely to get one.
