oh s***, my mother was just on here, because i was so stupid to leave the window open.

I said, 'oh, you're not looking at my stuff, are you?' and she's like, 'no, no', but she was really looking on here. Now i have to check if she posted anything.

Despite it being mother's day and all, I still find her nosiness really annoying and hard to tolerate!
Bloody hell, when she does snoop, it isn't for my own good or anything (I'm not hiding any drug or similar problem). It's for her own self-gratification.

It's even worse when I say 'oh, can you go away please, I'm trying to do [whatever I'm doing]' OR 'can you not go in my room' and she replies 'why don't you trust me? I promise I'm not trying to invade your privacy; I'm not at all interested in what you do.' (and then she goes and contradicts herself entirely, by snooping)

Why can't she just ask me instead of going behind my back? How can I trust her if she behaves as if she doesn't trust me?

Does anyone else experience similar problems with their parents? (you know, reading phone messages, going through stuff, and the worst... reading diaries. )

and mother dear, if you find this, don't get mad because you're only proving me right.

Hmm. Thats useful code to remember... My Parents couldnt work this thing If they tried..
Harsh about your mother though.. Maybe you jsut have to tell her that although shes trying to not 'invade' your privacy that by sbnooping like shes does, that she is.

That's sad that your mother doesn't trust you. You have my sympathies. A couple of my friends have parents like that and it must be awful. Maybe you should have a proper talk with her about it - or do the same thing to her and when she gets angry, then explain that that's how you feel when she does it to you.

The Window's Key + D is good trick, I must try that sometime.

Thanks. I guess i should talk to her about it. I have before, and she hasn't listened, but if i'm really serious about it. And yeah, I too have friends whose parents are INFINITELY worse than mine, so I guess i'm lucky.

i have a certain friend whose mother doesn't let her shave her legs OR armpits... instead, she got out a pair of scissors and trims under her arms! You've got to pity her. This is worse than invasion of privacy.

Ah, thankyou.

Incidentally, when's Mother's Day in the UK?
Sorry for scaring you all. (forgetting a family member's birthday, which is what i did last year, is infinitely worse btw and too, too easy - if it's mother's day or whatever you can't avoid the chocolate displays and flowers in the shops, but a birthday could just be any old plain school/work day)

Leave your computer displaying sites related to as many shocking things as you can. Drug experience forums, hardcore scat pornography, abortion guides, anything, and then let her find it and be horrified. Then explain why it was on all those sites, and see if she learns to stop poking around.
