Bad dreams?

Every time I go to sleep, say for the past month, I have had several dreams a night.

They are mosty negative and some are just scary, but they are *very* real..

Recently I dreamt I was dead, I saw a flash of purple light, and I assumed I was dead, then I opened my eyes, to discover that I was actually still alive

Then there was another time where this guy walked in through the back door and that scared the **** out of me, REALLY scary.

Last night I got beat up (in my dream) :frown:

What is it all about?

Sounds like anxiety dreams to me. Have you had a scary experience recently, or is there something coming up that you're nervous about?
I died once; my old science teacher poured acid on my head during a territorial war about trainers between the Sainsburys crew and the people from my area!

Scary.. If I was going to go all freud on you )Without the little Children..) then id say that there is something negative in your Unconscious Possbily, Or as lidia said anxiety coming throuhg.. Because as we know it is only in dreams we can have unacceptable thoughts.. Hmm.
Pent up anxiety sounds about right.

I recently had a typical townie abuse hurling incident whilst me+friends we're (ironically!) playing in the local kids playground. I started feeling sick from anxiety, wanted to beat said chavs up but also didn't want to cause a scene.

All that pent up aggression and worry came out in my nightmare that night; woke up and wanted to cry. Ugh, nasty.

EVERYONE has multiple dreams in their sleep. Just some people dont remember them. Our brain is almost always active when we're sleeping in one way or another. Dreams are generally a by-product of your brain automatically articulating your thoughts of the day.

Scary and painful dreams can mean a lot of things. It can mean you're stressed, but it can mean other things aswell, like repressed desire.

Freud: "A cigar is just a cigar"

You can read into a dream as far as you want...
I don't like this Freud character; i don't wish to be analysed by people who do not know me, throwing me into categories at their fancy.

Though, ironically, you amateur pyschologists out there will analyse this.
*strokes amateur pyschologist stylee beard*

Wait a minute, the initial poster doesn't know what is causing the nightmares so chances are it isn't such an obvious stress-related problem. Hmm, in which case I'm baffled...

Think before you say the term "oops, that was a freuden slip" then.

Stuff like that was pretty alien before his time.

pfft, everyone's a psychologist these days.

However, I'd say it was pretty much safe to assume that you are not, infact frightened of your father chopping your winky off - you'll just be a little tense.

I get nightmares when I'm stressed - and ironically, it's sleep I *NEED* when I'm stressed. guh.

i know. dreams always come at the wrong time. i get more dreams than ever during exam period.
If you try setting your alarm clock a little earlier and letting t wake you up then you probably won't remember the dreams.
