leg waxing

okay, i want to get my legs waxed at a salon. These are probably silly questions, but hopefully a regular leg waxer can help, or just someone with more common sense!

1. how long does the hair need to be? and 2. what's best to wear? cos I would think a skirt is most practical, but i don't want to wear a skirt with hairy legs.

The hair needs to be about half an inch long i think. When i went i wore tracksuit bottoms as they were baggy. Afterwards your legs can be a bit red and/or sticky from little bits of wax left. I wrote a thread a few months ago about waxing and it had some other information i think

3mm - 5mm
shorts?or a skirt and tights then quickly take them off in the toilet before the apptment?

Reply 3

no but she wouldnt need them afterwards- she'd already be all hair free!

to be honest, superdrug does a little box £3-4 of cold wax strips, easy to use- just do it at home?

but and i think i seem really naive here, id have to take the tracksuit bottoms off?

i havent shaved my legs in 8 days and there not even 0.5 mm long!

Why dont you just wear shorty type underwear under your trousers then take your trousers off? If you're getting it done at a salon, theyre beauticians, theyve done bikini waxes, theyve seen it all before!

yeah thats fine, im not particularly shy, my main concern was that wasn't what people normally do, and theyd think hmm this girl is weird why is she undressing? hehe i think i just need to stop overthinking everything.

do those superdrug strips work for you? Ive tried all sorts of cold/warm wax home kits and non of it works, even when i follow the instructions to the letter. my legs turn red and it HURTS but they are still hairy!!! gross! Does it ALWAYS work at a salon?

For home ones or a salon wax? Home ones vary from £4-£10. For me a full leg wax with brazilian is £30. I'm going to try and find somewhere cheaper though.

You can get veet green tea wax. It has a cylinder that you fill up with hot water, then put your pack of wax in and then it attaches to a roller and you roll the hot wax on your legs. I got some from the pound cheap place for £1.99 and its excellent. it does leg and bikini its excellent. And something I'm not allergic to yay

Agreed, it is down to personal preference. Personally, i prefer salon waxes, i know this way no accidents will happen, like me ripping my skin off!!!lol

Usually you just take off your trousers or skirt and then you will have a blanket over you, they will only expose the area needed for waxing, the rest of the blanket will remain over you keeping your dignity!!!

They don't bother though, they have seen it all before dozens of times!!!!

A Full leg wax usually costs £15-£20
