my boyfriend is going sky diving 2 days before my first AS exam, am i being unreasonable by saying hes being highly selfish because anythign could happen to him, and that he should just wait 5 weeks until agfter my exams r over, plus then i cud go with him?

why is he being selfish? he could always go again when your exams are finished.

Well, i guess it depends on the reason why he chose that date. But, i don't see why he wouldn't wait for you to go with him. If he knows you would worry and you have exams maybe it is a little selfish. Don't worry too much though, it's safe and i'm sure he will be fine. Talk to him about it

Sky diving is very safe. You have 2 parachutes, and even a computer that will open your parachute if you forget!

Also, if it's his first time, he'll either be doing a static line jump where the parachute opens automatically, or will have an instructor and do a tandem jump.

It's not really being selfish. I understand you must be worried, but that wont really change if he puts it off a few weeks. Be careful not to crush his independence here, though I know you must be afraid of him getting hurt.

Yeh, there is no need to worry. How long have you been together, is it something you could ask him about without him being put off? You could always go again together when exams are over. As said, you don't want to crush his independance.

but its more the fact that if something goes wrong its gona screw up my exams and il be on my own, id have rather he told me about it and we could have gone and done it together so i knew what it would be like, after my exams were over.

There is very little chance that it will go wrong though!

Wait, you don't want him to have an accident so you don't mess up your exams? Seriously wouldn't worry about it. Nothing will go wrong, it's very safe according to a mate of mine.

Probably much safer than travelling in a car.

I understand where you're coming from though, I would worry like hell as well....suppose it's his decision though, all you can do is tell him how you feel.....

As people have siad, it's really really safe, not much can go wrong, however scary the concept seems. If it's still bothering you so much then just talk to him. He will probably understand. Good luck in exams x

hooray he changed it, and i said we can dop it straight after ,my exams (only 5 wqeeks away) and il even go with him if he wants, oooo thank god for that (breathes huge sigh of releif)

 yay that's great, and now you get to go too! Have fun x

From my memory of it skydiving in this country takes a lot of planning and that date was probably set ages ago. I think you might be the one being a little egocentric if you expect the whole world to stop because you have an AS exam.

Not trying to make it sound like you were wrong for caring because i would understand your worries but that post makes it look like you were being a little bit selfish too :frown: but is good to hear is all been sorted out and that you are going to go together it could be a really exciting experience for you two
