anyone scared of falling in love?

hey guys, hope you're all well! having read one of the other posts, it got me thinking about falling in love for the first time. see i was/am kinda dating this girl and at almost 22, have never had a girlfriend or been in any sort of realtionship with a girl before. the more time passes by, the more i am scared of falling for someone. because it's my first time, i know i'm gonna fall hard and i think i'd be a great burden on a partner because i'm so new to this. does anyone else feel like this? anyone got any advice for a socially inept lad?

Just go with the flow. The less you think about it and analyse it and all that self-indulgent crap the better it'll be

nothing wrong with ahealthy dose of realism and cynicism. Maybe you disagree with me on the nature of subjectivity but the notion of emotion (or at least discussing it) seems problematic. Therfore if we treat love as some kind of descriptivist label then it seems like an empty or incoherent concept.

ok ok, when i say love i am generalising. i guess i mean those strong emotions you feel when you decide you like someone and want to commit to something with them.

Wow, it's pretty impressive to sound so depressed on a forum.

Denying emotion sounds pretty depressive to me.

Wow TSR has its very own Morrissey.

Love does exist, you just have to find it, love dosn't find you.

To answer the question I am a scared of falling in love? What is there to be scared of? Love must have to be one of the best feelings ever.

Mebbe he's scared of feeling so open and vulnerable to being hurt by loving so much. But that's where trust and committment comes in, I guess.

Would you deny that happiness exists just because it's practically impossible to explain? :p:

surely, with being one of the best emotions, it is therefore capable of being one of the worst??!

But unless you're willing to open up you will probably be single for ever, you have to let people in. I went through a phase of refusing to let myself get close to people, it just resulted in depression and lonelyness.

Yes but you can't let that stop you, I am not going to go to the shops because I am scared of being run over.

I know when love goes wrong its the most depressing thing ever, but they say its better to have loved and lost than to never have loved.
