Marriage to first woman?
Attempts to break it up
Split With Rome

he got married to Catherine of Aragon (1st woman) before he got made king - she was his dead brother's wife (the main point he used to try to get the divorce)

Other than that, you have the basics
What are the most likely topics ?

Our teacher reckons :

Wolsey foreign policy
Reasons for dissolution of monasteries
Role of Cromwell/Cranmer
Reply 52
I doubt the monasteries and foreign policy will come up : foreign policy was in the spec. paper and monasteries were too.. :frown: < I like those topics

I personally think the Great Matter will come up < it hasn't come up in Jan or spec. and it's a 'great' topic! {couldn't resist}

The great matter came up :

Do you agree with the view that the main reason for Wolseys fall from power was his failure to secure the annulment of the Kings marriage to Catherine of Aragon.

As did :

Do you agree with the view that the main cause of the Pilgrimage of Grace was a widespread dislike of religious changes.

They were part B

Part A was :

How far do sources 1 and 2 suggest that the young Henry VIII saw the nobility as his friends and supporters.

oh yeah... I actually did the PoG question, and so conveniently forgot about the other one ..

in which case the Supremacy's possible ...unless it came up and I forgot about it..

^^ that's really good/useful, thanks man2392! (only you have 2 different dates for the English Bible..)
Reply 57
I though the bible was published in 1538? cus thats wen in Cromwells second injunctions all parish churches had to own a copy.
Also, what happened in the supplication of the ordninaries? iv been calling it supplication of the ordinances all year
Reply 58
Supplication against the Ordinaries was was when the House of Commons petitioned Henry to take action against churchmen who were abusign their position. Ordinance is another word for a bishop. Henry appeared as the impartial judge to the two parties, passing the petition to Convocation. It resulted in the Chucrh losing its independant legal system , centuries old, instead becoming sub-ordinate to the monarch
Sooo what topic is everyone revising the most.
